The Real Statistics Resource Pack contains a variety of supplemental functions and data analysis tools not provided by Excel. These complement the standard Excel capabilities and make it easier for you to perform the statistical analyses described in the rest of this website.
We now explain how to download and install the Real Statistics Resource Pack for use with Excel 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021 or 365 on Windows. If you are using Excel 2007 click here. If you are using Excel 2003 or a prior version of Excel click here. Finally, if you are using Excel for the Macintosh click here.
Keep in mind that there are also two versions of Excel, at least for Excel 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021 and 365, the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version. Most people use the 32-bit version. The Real Statistics Resource Pack works in both versions of Excel.
Download
Real Statistics Resource Pack for Excel 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021 or 365 for Windows
Two versions of the software are available. The first provides help support (via Insert Function fx) for Real Statistics worksheet functions but can slow down certain Excel operations. The second version omits this support but does not degrade Excel operations.
- Version 1: If you accept the License Agreement, click here on Real Statistics Resource Pack for Excel 2010/2013/2016/2019/2021/365 with help to download the latest Excel for Windows version of the resource pack that accompanies this website (Release 9.3). This version includes worksheet function help support and is named XRealStats.xlam.
- Version 2: If you accept the License Agreement, click here on Real Statistics Resource Pack for Excel 2010/2013/2016/2019/2021/365 w/o help to download the latest Excel for Windows version of the resource pack that accompanies this website (Release 9.3). This version does not include the worksheet function help support and is named XRealStatsX.xlam.
Both versions of the software are compatible with all Windows releases of Excel from 2010 until the present. After downloading the software make sure that you install the software as described below.
Downloading either resource pack means that you accept the License Agreement.

Solver Installation
Before trying to install the Real Statistics Resource Pack make sure that Excel’s Solver is installed on your computer. You can check this as follows:
- Open up a blank Excel spreadsheet
- Press Alt-TI (i.e. hold down the Alt key and press the T and I keys).
- On the dialog box that appears make sure that the Solver add-in is checked. If not, check it and click on the OK button.
- If the Solver add-in was not checked you need to close the Excel file before proceeding to the Real Statistics installation.
You can also accomplish step #2 by selecting Developer > Add-ins|Excel Add-ins.
Real Statistics Installation
Once you have downloaded the Resource Pack and made sure that Solver is installed, you need to install the Real Statistics Real Pack using the following steps:
- Move the Resource Pack to where you want it located on your computer (see our recommendation below). Caution: Once you install the resource pack at a particular location it will be more difficult to move it later.
- Open Excel, but don’t try to open the XRealStats.xlam or XRealStatsX.xlam file that you downloaded earlier.
- Select File > Help|Options > Add-Ins and click on the Go button at the bottom of the window (see Figure 1). Alternatively, you can simply press Alt-TI (i.e. hold the Alt key down and simultaneously press T followed by I) and the dialog box shown in Figure 2 will appear.
- Check the Xrealstats or Xrealstatsx option on the dialog box that appears (see Figure 2) and click the OK button. NOTE: If you have previously activated a different version of the Real Statistics software you must uncheck the option corresponding to that version.
- If this option doesn’t appear, click on Browse to locate and then choose the xrealstats.xlam or xrealstatsx.xlam file. Then complete step 4 as described above.
Where to place the Real Statistics Resource Pack
While you can place the Real Statistics Resource Pack anywhere on your computer, we recommend that you put the file in the following folder:
C:\Users\user-name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AddIns
where user-name is your username in Microsoft Windows. Since some of these folders are hidden, you may find it convenient to enable showing hidden folders. For example, in Windows 10 or 11 you can do this by opening Settings and then typing Show Hidden Files and Folders in the search field. Next, check on the Show hidden files, folders, and drives option in the dialog box that appears, and then click on the OK button.
Installation of Upgrades
Once you have installed the Real Statistics Resource Pack as described above, to install a new version of the software you don’t need to repeat these steps. You only need to delete the previous version of the resource pack and put the new version of the software in the same location as the previous version.
Troubleshooting
If there is a problem during the installation try one or more of the following:
- If Excel is running, close it. Find the file with the Real Statistics add-in. Right-click on the file and click on the Properties option from the menu that appears. Towards the bottom of the General tab of the Properties window, you will see the security message “This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer”. Next to this message is the Unblock checkbox. Make sure this is checked and press the OK button. Start Excel.
- Click on Options from the File ribbon and then choose the Trust Center option on the left side. Next, click on Trust Center Settings …. Now, click on the Macro Settings option on the left side and make sure that it is Disable all Macros with Notification. Also, click on the Trusted Locations option on the left side and click on the Add New Location… button to add the folder that contains the XRealStats or XRealStatsX file as a trusted location.
- Try opening a blank Excel worksheet and press Alt-TI. Uncheck the Xrealstats add-in and close Excel. Now open a blank Excel worksheet and press Alt-TI. This time check the Xrealstats add-in
Most importantly, remember that Solver must be installed. To check this, press Alt-TI and make sure that Solver (as well as Xrealstats or Xrealstatsx) is on the list of add-ins with a checkmark next to it.
Real Statistics Functions
Once you have installed the Real Statistics Resource Pack you can use the Real Statistics functions in the same way as you use the built-in worksheet functions supplied with Excel. These functions are described throughout the rest of this website. A complete list of these functions can be found on the Tools menu of the website (or at Real Statistics Software Capabilities).
Real Statistics Data Analysis Tools
You can access the Real Statistics data analysis tools in one of the following ways, as described in Accessing Real Statistics Data Analysis Tools:
- By pressing Ctrl-m or
- Clicking on an icon on the Add-Ins ribbon or
- Clicking on an icon on the Quick Access Toolbar or
- Via the Macro dialog box
A dialog box will now appear that lists all the available Real Statistics data analysis tools. You need to choose one of the data analysis tools from this list.
A dialog box will then appear as described in Real Statistics Data Analysis Tools which enables you to specify your input data and choose from available options. You can also access Help to get more information about the selected data analysis tool.
A complete list of Real Statistics data analysis tools can be found in Real Statistics Data Analysis Tools.
Uninstalling the Real Statistics Resource Pack
- Open Excel
- Press Alt-TI
- Uncheck the Xrealstats or Xrealstatsx option on the dialog box that appears and click the OK button.
- Close Excel and delete the file that contains the Real Statistics Resource Pack.
Hi. Please I’m finding it difficult to access it on a MacBook
Are you having trouble downloading the add-in?
Charles
Hey Charles,
Thank you for the software. I have had some trouble with the download/installation process, and I have tried troubleshooting a few different times. I keep getting two error codes: 1. “hidden module solvercode error” and a VBA error. It’s also possible I missed something in the above explanation.
I would appreciate any help you can give. I use excel 365. Thank you
Also, I looked through the FAQ about this and followed all the steps: Checking Solver; uninstalling and reinstalling. I’m assuming I did them right – at least hopefully I can follow directions!
Jameson,
Did you look at the following webpage? https://www.real-statistics.com/appendix/faqs/compile-error-in-hidden-module/
Are you experiencing the problem for more than one data analysis tool or just one?
If the FAQ didn’t resolve the problem, perhaps there is a software bug. Usually, this is not the problem, it is a possibility. In this case, please send me an Excel file with your data and specify which data analysis tool you were trying to run and the entries you made in the dialog box.
Charles
It is absolutely an excellent Excel add-in package you developed. It has now made my research work data analysis more easier than ever. You are such a nice and kind person to give it as free. Only one request I have to you: please add one test for “Cross-sectional Correlation” for multi-firm with multi-period setup as given by “Kolari, J. W., Pynnonen, S. (2010). Event study testing with cross –sectional correlation of abnormal returns. Review of Financial Studies 23(11), 3996 – 4025” and also if possible different test statistics for event study.
Once again…thanks a lot
Regards
Abhijit
Thank you for sending me the documents by email. I will take a look at them shortly.
Charles
thanks
Hi Charles,
I have problem in installing xlrealstats resource package.
I can install it, until it shows add ins tab. But when I close the file and open the file again, the Add ins tab disappear , CTRL + M didn’t work, and all realstats formula disappear.
Can you please help me?
Hey, I solved the problem.
I wasn’t following the troubleshooting correctly. But now I followed it correctly.
All I wanna say is that I deeply thanks for your invention. This is really useful!
Great news! Glad to see that you got it working.
Charles
Have you tried any of the approaches described in the Troubleshooting section of this webpage?
Ideas on the following webpage might also be helpful.

Hi Charles,
I have installed this tool and I have a problem when I want to test using Anova two factor. There is a problem when I input the number of Alpha, I already type the Alpha number 0.05, then I click OK but showing an error message like “Alpha must be a number between 0 and .5”. I also try to fill this input with “.5” and still get the error message like that. What should I suppose to do to solve this problem?
Thanks,
Faisal
Hi Faisal,
When you enter a decimal value, does your version of Excel expect a value such as 0.05 or does it expect 0,05%? See
https://www.real-statistics.com/appendix/faqs/comma-as-decimal-symbol/
Charles
Hi Charles,
Now, It’s already working. I should type the alpha number using a comma like “0,05”.
Thanks,
Faisal
Hi there! Do you have t-SNE in the list of functions? I can’t seem to find it.
Thanks
SandyG
Hi SandyG,
Sorry, but the Real Statistics software does not supportt-SNE.
Charles
Hi Charles,
Many thanks for the Real Statistics. It is very useful.
I wish to test whether there is a significant difference in the slope of a regression from a set value of -1. The slope value I have from my own data is -0.99. Unfortunately, I have only a small dataset consisting of 12 observations. I assume that the best approach is to use a bootstrap. However, I do not see this on your Real Statistics package. Is there any way I could do this?
By the way, I published a paper last year in which I tested the difference in Euclidean distances using your Real Statistics package using bootstrapping, so I’d like to thank you for that. The reference is: Ward, D. (2021). Shade affects fine-root morphology in range-encroaching eastern redcedars (Juniperus virginiana) more than competition, soil fertility and pH. Hello David,
I am delighted that the Real Statistics website and software have been useful, in particular in the preparation of your research paper.
The typical output from a linear regression model of the form y = bx + a will contain the t-test as to whether b is significantly different from zero. Let’s suppose further that you are using the data (x1, y1), (x2, y2), …, (xn, yn)
If I understand correctly, you want to test, instead, whether b is significantly different from -1. Now consider the regression model y’ = cx + d where the data for y’ consists of the data y1-x1, y2-x2, …, yn-xn. The data for x remains as before x1, x2, …, xn. I claim that testing whether c is significantly different from zero is equivalent to testing whether b is significantly different from -1.
This is a consequence of the fact that y’ = cx + d is equivalent to y-x = cx + d, i.e. y = (c+1)x + d, which is of the form y = bx + a (where b = c+1 and d = a). THus, we can use the usual t-test as to whether c is significantly different from 0 to show whether b is significantly different from -1.
Charles
Charles
Excellent. Many thanks, Charles. Much appreciated.

EXCELLENT SOFTWARE. THANKS TO THE INVENTION
I’m not able to find the addin folder in the following location. C:\Users\user-name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AddIns. Like there’s no addin folder inside microsoft. What to do now? Please help me in this regards as soon as possible as I have to submit a project.
In the above, “user-name” should be replaced by the name Windows uses for you.
In any case, you don’t have to place the Real Statistics file in this folder. You can place almost anywhere on your computer.

Buenos Días.
Instalo el Real Statics, pero no me aparece en ninguna de las pestañas, el Análisis Multivariado.
Hello Dalia,
If you are using the Windows version of Excel, Real Statistics should be accessible from the AddIns ribbon. You can also access it by pressing the key sequence Ctrl-m. This works for both the Windows and Mac versions of Excel.
Once you press Ctrl-m, you can access the various multivariate analyses (MANOVA, etc.) from the Multivar tab.
Charles
Hi, I always have to deactivate and reactivate your great add-in (through Alt-T-I) – otherwise, Ctrl-m won’t work (also the add-in tab is not even showing). Seems like the add-in is not loading when I start Excel despite it being activated in the toolbar.. No clue what the reason ist but I’m glad it works through my workaround.
Maybe this helps other persons, too! 🙂
Best regards!
Hello Tobi,
This problem surfaced when Microsoft made some security changes a long time ago. Perhaps the following webpage will help:
Disappearing Add-Ins Ribbon
Charles
Dear Colleague Charles:
Uninstall and reinstall it to make your Excel add-in appear every time. I use Microsoft office Professional Plus and I have saved the file on the site you recommend. I use the Spanish language and Everything in Windows 10 Home 21H1 “windows insider” Compilation 19043.962.
It has always happened to me and with different versions of Office and Windows.

Does another data analysis tool work properly?
If you email me an Excel file with your data and the options you chose, I will try to figure out what is going wrong.
Charles
Hello Dr. Charles,
Have you figured out the reason for the error mentioned above?

Shadi,
Which error are you referring to?
Charles
Agreed
IS THERE A PLUGIN FOR GOOGLE SHEETS ??
No. VBA is required.

I agree
Hi, I have just started using the REal Statistics add-in in Office 365. I note that some of the data is shown in italics and centred within the column. Does this have any significance. Please excuse me as I am quite new to statistics.
Thanks
Hello Frank,
Titles and column or row labels might be shown in italics, but generally, numeric data is not shown in italics. Can you give me one or two examples where this occurred?
Charles
I agree
Sir,
When I downloaded the file, the functions work however the box underneath it that tells you what variables to input does not. Is there a way to get that to show up like other regular functions? For example, if I type in an original excel function =NORM.DIST( , a little box underneath it pops up to say what variables to input (x, mean, st dev, cum). However when I type in =TRIANG_DIST( , no box underneath it pops up so I don’t know what variables it needs to make the function work. Can you assist?
Such a box does appear when I use Real Statistics on my computer. Also, I can use the Insert Function capability fx.
This capability may be missing for older versions of Excel (Excel 2007 or older). What do you see when you enter the formula =VER() in any spreadsheet cell?
In all versions of Excel, you should be able to type the function name and then press the key sequence Ctrl-Shft-a to get some information about the arguments.
Charles
Hi Charles,
I seem to be unable to download the correct file? When I try to open it I get an excel file that I cannot do anything with. Not sure why this is happening or if this is common.
Greg,
You are not supposed to open the file. You should instead follow the installation instructions that you find on the webpage from which you downloaded the file.
Charles
Charles,
I’ve been trying to track down a condition that prevents XRealStats.xlam from loading. When this occurs, cells that reference it show #NAME. This issue doesn’t occur if Solver.xlam is disabled. I then see Excel (2013, 15.0.5311.1000) open XRealStats.xlam (#$XRealStats.xlam is created in C:\Users\David\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AddIns) and stay open. While Solver.xlam is enabled, I have to disable and re-enable XRealStats.xlam to get it to work. In this state, if the workbook is closed and opened, the symptom (#NAME) appears and XRealStats.xlam remains closed even though it has a tick against it in the available Add-Ins. I have made the above folder a trusted location and checked that macro security is disabled. Also, I have turned off Bitdefender (antivirus).
I could reload Solver (located in library\SOLVER) but would like to ask if you’ve seen this and can suggest a solution.
Correction: macro security is enabled
David,
I have not seen this problem go away when Solver is disabled. Very strange. If you have tried all the approaches described at
https://www.real-statistics.com/appendix/faqs/password-prompt/ (even when you are not prompted for a password), then
I suggest that you start from scratch and download a fresh copy of Xrealstats.xlam and then rename the file, say to Zrealstats.xlam. Now follow the installation instructions. Make sure that Solver is enabled.
Charles
Update: the issue is caused by a recent Office Security update that marks files downloaded from the Internet as blocked. Excel does not open files marked as blocked. The solution is to unblock the file (XRealStats.xlam) by going to its Properties > General tab > Security, and tick the checkbox named Unblock. This resolved the issue.
I believe the issue regarding Solver.xlam was related to the disabling and enabling of add-ins, used to investigate this issue.
David,
Thanks for sharing this. Glad that you got it to work.
Charles
Thank you, David! Thanks to your comment I could solve here the same problem.
Thank you so much for all your work! This is a very great help for students undergoing research.

Hello Mirza,
I just located the example that you are referencing. I will check the results in the next few days.
Charles
Mirza,
Yes, you are correct. There is an error in the Real Statistics website and software. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I expect to correct the software and website in a few days. You will find the correction in a bug-fix release Rel 7.6.1.
Thank you for your help in improving the quality and accuracy of Real Statistics.
Charles
Dear Charles,
Can you tell me how to enable the macros in the XRealStats.xlam file? My system is blocking the addin and says its because of the macros.
“Macros in this document have been disabled by your enterprise administrator for security reasons.”
Mark,
XRealStats.xlam doesn’t require anything special regarding enabling macros. If your administrator has restricted use of macros or if your operating system has restricted their use, then you need to overcome this before you can use Real Statistics.
I suggest that you google “enabling macros in excel” and you will see lots of information about enabling macros. The first item on the list, from Microsoft, should do the job.
Charles
Hello Charles,
Your website is really helpful for quick help. I was wondering if you have example problem for parameter estimation for three parameter Weibull distribution using MLE (solver or Newton’s method)
Thank you,
You should be able to modify the Solver approach for the three-parameter distribution. See
https://www.real-statistics.com/distribution-fitting/distribution-fitting-via-maximum-likelihood/fitting-weibull-parameters-mle/

Hi! I am using 365 followed exactly your instructions and unfortunately it didn´t work.
I checked every step several times. Can you please give me any tips?
Rosana,
Can you explain in more detail what didn’t work? What sort of error messages did you receive or problems did you encounter?
What version of Excel are you using?
Charles
I tried to carry out the power analysis but receive the following
Compile error in hidden module: frmT2Power
Nikita,
If you are getting similar errors from a number of the data analysis tools, see
Compile error in hidden module
If this webpage doesn’t help, then please specify which power analysis you are trying to perform and what are the input parameters (effect size, alpha, sample size, etc.).

I was able to use the package yesterday. Today, Excel kept on running errors whenever I try to access the features of the package. Excel hangs-up and then crashes. I tried to repair my whole office installation and redownloading the ad-in package, but the error still persist. I really want to use it, because it makes us use advanced statistics right in excel. Hope someone will be able to help me un this hurdle.
What sort of errors are you getting?
Charles
Hello,
In case anyone should encounter the same problem.
When I downloaded the file, what I got was this: XRealStats.cleaned.xlam.xlsx. This was because all the files get scanned by a security program which somehow changed the file itself. In this downloaded form when .cleaned and .xlsx are removed the file is not usable. So in order to get the RealStats I downloaded it into my phone and the transferred the file, and followed the rest of the installation guidelines.
Hello Maarja,
This is the first time that I have heard of a .cleaned.xlam.xlsx extension being added to what is an .xlam file. I don’t know what security program would do this or why.
Charles
Getting “can’t find project or library” error when adding version 7.4 in Excel. It seems not working with 32 bit version of Office 365…the same 7.4 version works in 64 bit version of Office 365 on another identical computer (just difference in Office 32/64 bit versions). Followed all troubleshooting guides but still to no avail. Any idea?
I am using the 32-bit version of Office 365 and everything works properly.
Did things work properly when using a previous release, say 7.3?
When you press the key sequence Alt-TI do you see XRealstats and Solver on the list of add-ins with check marks next to them?

I have 602 values that I am trying to find natural breaks. I ran the program for 4 & 5 classes but when I try 6 class the program gets hung up and then excel stops working after a while (30 minutes). What could be the problem?
Also, for class 4, my output produced GVF for lower of 5.81E+08 and upper 5.94E+09 and for the count 0.902212. Does that sound right?
For class 5, my output produced GVF for lower of 3.29E+08 and upper 5.94E+09 and count of 0.944638
Christine,
With a large number of data elements, especially for more than a couple of classes, it takes too long for the program to go through all the possible solutions. In this case, it is better to specify an iteration value (e.g. by filling in a value for the Number of Iterations field in the Jenks Natural Breaks data analysis tool). You can experiment by using a small number of iterations and then increase this value until the program is too slow. The solutions you get maybe a little different each time (such is the nature of simulations), but any of the solutions should be pretty good.
If you send me an Excel file with your data, I can check whether you are on the right track.
Charles
Charles
How come the lag in your tool only allow 12 lag if i have 200 plus data how do i do it?
Vincent,
Just because you have 200 data elements doesn’t necessarily mean that you need a very large lag count.
In any case, I will increase the lags in the next release of the software.
Charles
Hello,
I was wondering if the Real Statistics data Analysis tool can be used on Windows PC and if we can run a multiple regression
a) with categorical variables
b) with data sets that have more than 16 columns
Thanks,
Nihar
Nihar,
Yes, Real Statistics has a multiple regression data analysis tool that supports categorical data and more than 16 (in fact more than 64) columns.
Charles
i have followed every step mentioned in the article but everytime i open a new excel sheet, the add in doesnt appear. even the formulas dont appear. i havent even clicked on that file which contains the addin
When you open up a new sheet, what do you see when you insert the formula =VER() in any cell?
What version of Excel are you using?
Charles
I am having the same issue. I am using the 2016 version of Excel. When I put =VER() in a cell then press enter it gives me “#NAME?”
This means that the software was not installed correctly.
Please follow the installation instructions that are written on the same webpage from which you downloaded the Real Statistics add-in.
Charles
I agree to the license agreement.
Hi again Charles
Even if It costs us 2 hours 🙂 we solved the problem in this way
Analysis Toolpack-VBA=>Browse=>choose XRealStats.xlam again=>ok=>ok
Thanks again
Mustafa,
Sorry that you had to spend two hours on this, but glad to see that it worked.
I have done it by pressing Alt-TI, unchecking XRealStats, closing Excel and then opening EXcel, pressing Alt-TI and checking Xrealstats again. I am not sure whether the closing and opening of Excel was really necessary.
Simply pressing Ctrl-Shft-m may have been sufficient, but I can’t recall now.
Charles
Hello Charles,
I set up the pack as your directions but when I try to use COVPooled() function, can’t see it in the suggestion bar. What can be the problem?
Thank you
Hello,
Every time I open Excel I need to reinstall the Real Stats Add In even though when I go to Add Ins it is listed and already checked.
Any tips?
Patrick,
This shouldn’t happen. If Xrealstats and Solver are both on the list of add-ins with a checkmark next to them then all the functions should work. Just so that I am clear, the add-in dialog box is not the one in Figure 1, but the one in step #5.
When you installed the Real Statistics add-in did you double-click on the file? If so, this can cause a lot of problems.
Charles
Hi Charles,
I’m having the same problem; Each time I open Excel I need to uncheck and check again the add-in. when I donwloaded the file I made the mistake to try to open the file (I hadn’t read the instructions). So Do you know what could I do to solve this issue?
Renny,
I suggest that you start over again. When you have downloaded the file containing the Real Statistics software to your computer, rename it to ZRealStats.xlam and then follow the installation instructions. This will prevent Excel from confusing the new version with the old one that is causing problems. You can then (or later) uninstall the XRealStats.xlam software as also described on this webpage.
Charles
Real Statistics is super handy! THANK YOU
hello, I can install the package but once I try to run an ANOVA on it the whole computer seizes up and the analysis stalls. What can I do about this?
When you installed the Real Statistics add-in did you double-click on the file containing the add-in?
When you press Alt-TI do you see both Xrealstats and Solver on the list of add-ins with a check mrìk next to them?
When you enter the formula =VER() in any cell what do you see?
Charles
Hello Charles,
I have been using your Real Stats Excel tool pack and have found it very useful. I have followed the installation instructions from your website; however I have to uncheck the add-in, re-open excel, and check the add-in again every time I open a file with any of your formulas in it, otherwise excel doesn’t recognize the formulas. Do you have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? I would like to be able to re-open an Excel file I have used your formulas in without having to re-check the add-in each time.
Thank you very much for your help!
Jarrod,
You shouldn’t have to do this.
The following is a list of FAQs, but yours doesn’t seem to fit one of these, but pressing the key sequence Ctrl-Shft-m may address the problem.

Hi Charles,
I am having the exact same problems as Jarrod. It appears that the Real Stats Add in is installed but when I go to type a formula, for example, =Skellum_Distribution nothing comes up. If that formula was already in the file from last time then excel is now changing the value to #Name?
Patrick,
When #Name? appears this means that Real Statistics is no longer active. When this happens, do you see Xrealstats on the list of add-ins when you press the key sequence Alt-TI (assuming the English language version of Excel and Windows)? Does a checkmark appear next to Xrealstats?
Does the checkmark appear and then disappear? If so, did you try to use the key sequence Ctrl-Shft-m ?
Charles
Thank you for wonderful application. it is so useful.
I do have same problem with pattrick and jarrot. even the xrealstat has checkmark next to xrealstat.
I tried also for ctrl-shft-m and it did not appear anything
And recently, it become slower to use realstat. For one analysis I need to wait around 10 minutes. I also introduce this application to my students, and they also experienced it and they need to wait until 30 minutes to analysis data
I don’t know what would cause this problem. I don’t see it on my computer. Let me ask some questions to try to figure out what is going on:
1. What do you see when you enter the formula = VER() into any cell?
2. What version of Excel are you using?
3. What version of Windows or Mac OS are you using?
4. How much memory do you have installed on your computer?
5. Are you able to use any of the Real Statistics data analysis tools?
Charles
Hi Charles,
When I press Alt -TI the Xrealstats Add in is listed and is also checked. Along with Analysis Toolpak & Solver Add-in.
The other add ins both work and show up under Data/Analyze. The Add-ins menu does not appear.
When I go to the Add-ins, click browse and reselect the file then everything works fine. Although the cells that already had =SKELLAM_DIST now show
=C\Users\Desktop\Files\Xrealstats.xlam’!Skellam_DIST
When I type in VER() nothing comes up when it is not working. When I reinstall it and type VER() it returns below.
7.3.3 Excel 2010/2013/2016/2019/365 Windows
Patrick,
– Real Statistics won’t appear on the Data/Analyze ribbon. It should appear on the Add-ins ribbon. If it doesn’t then you can use any of the approaches described at https://www.real-statistics.com/appendix/faqs/disappearing-addins-ribbon/
– If =C\Users\Desktop\Files\Xrealstats.xlam’!Skellam_DIST shows up then there are two ways to get rid of the initial part of the path entry (for this formula and any other formulas in your workbook). See the following webpage for how to do this.
https://www.real-statistics.com/free-download/examples-installation/
These instructions are for one of the Real Statistics examples workbooks, but the approach is the same for one of your workbooks.
– VER() shows the correct information

Hello Dr. Charles,
Thanks very much for your website. It is just great.
I did download the pack for Mac on my machine, where Microsoft office-365 is installed.
I followed the steps and I located the pack and checked the box. Solver and analysis tool pack are also checked.
Unfortunately, Real statistics do not show up in the AnalysisTools, while solver and Data Analysis exist. Please advice,
Regards,
Samir
Samir,
As you said, Real Statistics does not show up on the Analysis Tools. To use Real Statistics you just need to press the key sequence Ctrl-m.
Charles
Terra thanks for letting me using your Real Statistics.
Sigit,
I am pleased that you are getting value from Real Statistics.

Hi there when I use the SCORREL function and click CTRL+Shift+Enter I get a message “Compile Error In Hidden Module: Misc

I have verified installation and followed all steps in troubleshooting. When i enter control-M, I do not get a dialogue box to use “Extract Columns from a Data Range”. Is there another way to open this box?
What do you see when you enter the formula =VER() in any cell?
Do you see XRealStats.xlam on the list of add-ins when you press the key sequence Alt-TI ?
