I am pleased to announce the latest bug-fix release, Release 8.8.2, of the Real Statistics Resource Pack. The new release is now available for free download at Download Resource Pack for Excel 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021, and 365 in both Windows and Mac environments.
XRealStatsX.xlam
In the previous bug-fix release, Rel 8.8.1, I added a new version of the Real Statistics software XRealStatsX.xlam that I claimed would support both Windows and Mac Office 365 users. It turns out that this new version does not support all Real Statistics features on the Mac even for Office 365 users. Thus, I no longer recommend its use on the Mac.
I now recommend that Excel 2016/2019/2021/365 Mac users continue to use XRealStats-Mac.xlam.
I recommend that Excel 2010/2013/2016/2019/2021/365 Windows users continue to use XRealStats.xlam unless performance degradation on Excel is observed. In this case, I recommend using the new XRealStatsX.xlam version since it doesn’t include the worksheet function descriptors that can slow down some Excel capabilities.
Bug Fixes
Various tooltips, labels, and tab sequencing in the data analysis tools have been corrected.
Release 8.8.1 fixed a bug that occurred when the Nonparametric and Two independent sample options on the T-test and Equivalent Nonparametric tests data analysis tool were selected. It turns out that only the Mac version of the software contained this correction. This release fixes this bug in the Windows versions of the software.
O’Brien’s Test
This release also adds support for O’Brien’s test for homogeneity of variance via the new worksheet function OBrienTest(R1). See O’Brien’s Test for more details.
