I’ve appreciated using your website and Excel tools over the years.
I’m trying to test if there’s any significant difference between a handful of portfolio trading scenarios. I have the weekly returns for each over a 20+ year period, but really would like to compare the final single-value linked total return between each scenario. I’ve compared the weekly and linked yearly returns using t-tests, and the lowest p-values are around ~0.3. However, I’m thinking weekly returns aren’t as good of a comparison due to their path dependence, and also because some of the final total returns are twice that of others. Is there a statistical test that might accurately check for significant difference when your only data is 2+ total returns/numbers?
I understand from your reply that, normality checking is not necessary before plotting of chart. The machine operators plot real time values on the chart and it is not possible to check normality that time.

Thank you!
Hello Brister,
What do you mean by “2+ total returns/numbers”?

Hi Charles,
Would you please suggest, whether we need to check normality of data before plotting control charts?
Yes, you should be able to make any sort of chart without checking for normality.
Charles
Thanks.

I am looking for data analyses of different lake systems
Please provide more detailed information.

It is so helpful.
